Is My Dad Being Scammed?

What's your dads email? Have everyone on black hat world email him. Every person think of a different story to tell. Hopefully he will figure that his current encounter is a scam along with the tens of thousands of emails he will receive. If not, we are in for a big pay day...

Find out how your dad is sending money, call them up and threaten to sue if they keep being a part in a wire fraud. They won't be able to claim unawareness anymore as you warned them. Western Union, Money Gram etc are usually very submissive in these cases as the heat is already high on them for similar past events.

If it's a bank, ask them about a financial kind of a restraining order. Most are forbidden by law to aid illegal activities just like they won't let you pay for a kidney through them if they know about the reason for the transaction.

Seriously, do something to your dads PC to stop him getting online or something, let this whole thing blow over then let him back on it.

There are two ways to go about this: One way is to EDUCATE your father about these scams and the other way is to FOOL him so that he believes that it's a prank. (Resort to the second option of fooling him when he is being really stubborn, despite your best efforts of educating him)

As far as educating him goes, provide him links to blogs, forums and websites where such topics are discussed. People have already shared it over here.

As far as fooling him is concerned, use the technique told by the other guy on this thread who recommends setting up few fake email ids and emailing your dad with similar texts, quoting I am the queen,..need money... blah blah blah....May be, he will then realize that these scams have been going around for quite some time..

Despite all this, even if he your dads wants to send money, ask him to deny her request at least once saying that he lost everything and doesn't have any more so that he comes to know about her true colors.

Tell him to copy and paste the first message he received from the scammer in google, he will realise it... every words will be same mostly....

I know noone will listen untli they experience themselves.

As many must have pointed out this is an obvious scam but you seriously need to have a chat with your dad cos its one thing for you to acknowledge its scam and another for your dad to acknowledge depending on how deep the hook has sunk. This is the oldest scam on the internet and let your dad know he has been scammed if already he has sent money but he now has the option to decide not to part with more of his money. CUT IT CLEAN. GOOD LUCK

A lot of thought and COMPARISON between posts have gone to deciding a ban. How many posts did you actually read, did you actually read the whole thread?

Cause if am right after reading this thread THROUGHLY there was another member in this forum that mentioned the OP was stupid also.
