Is my CPA network cheating me?

So I signed up with Adscend Media and chose an offer from that converts
at email submit. Now, to my understanding, that means as soon as someone
puts their email, I get the money. I promoted my offer heavily and after a week, had
not received any conversions. So I told a friend to try the offer, he put his email, and
I still didn't get credited for it! So are they cheating me or is this common?

They might have a reporting delay. When did he put in his email. Did he receive an email from them?
 
There are several factors you may be missing, 90% of CPA offers don't "complete" with only putting email, it'll take at least one survey. If your friend just entered on the link, it is a direct visitor, easy to track. I've heard Adscend Media is one of the best networks so it's nothing like they are cheating on you, stop asking your friends to complete your offer. If you are way too curious about it, take a private proxy and complete that offer to the fullest.
 
It might be Shaving, Scrubbing or Bad Traffic Source.. Change offer or network

may be their pixel is not firing... ask your AM to send a test lead
Try their other offers, if the result were same switch to another cpa network...

Always split test between networks some generate you 60-70% more revenue with same traffic

I've always been annoyed by "email submits" that actually convert at a later stage. Lots of networks intentionally mislabel their offers like this. We try our best to label things correctly so this shouldn't be the case.

OP:

As for why an offer may not convert, it's probably that the pixel did not fire, but probably not that the pixel is broken or not placed. Most likely your friend could be using AdBlock or some other software that blocks pixels. Even some antivirus/anti-spyware programs have "privacy" features that block cookies or pixels (which they may also call a "web bug"). The other possibility is that the advertiser either detected a bogus email address (invalid domain, etc) or simply shaved it. Shaving is out of our control. I would ask your AM which email submits are converting best. Or an offer that converts on 2nd page may have a higher EPC than a true email submit.

As for your other traffic I can't make a guess since I don't know the quality or volume of the traffic.
 
if you think you are getting shaved then try one of the many Non scrub offers. they don't pay much but if you think your getting cheated (highly doubt it) this will let you know.
 
You can expect conversionrates of 2-3%. Try to use other offers then email submits. They're shaved a lot through the advertisers (not the networks!).
I talked to one of my AM's a few days ago. He told me that...
 
I personally believe this company shaves, I used to make money off them a while back and my tracking data showed me I was indeed being shaved so I left them and never went back.
 
I don't know something shady was also going on with my adscend media account. I was getting US Downloads on a content locked file, I have the option to allow people to download if there are no offers for their country. I see myself getting US downloads but no conversions, I've messaged my AM and no reply, my account is almost 3 years old though so who know if she even still works there. Been having much better luck with actually becoming an affiliate for some offers I was promoting.
 
i agree with moneylover
i think you might be shaved by the advertiser more likely than by the network.

it's in the networks interest to get you to stay committed to promoting their offer.
on the other hand...the advertiser might not care as much.

I agree.. Although Peerfly lately shaves more than usual, it's still way better than other networks.
Maxbounty are fine, good conversions and less shaving.
 
well they send you a mail to confirm your email unless you do that its not going to count so you should ask you friend to check his mail if he has received a confirmation link that confirm it and you'll receive your lead
 
If your friend filled out the offer behind well known proxy/vpn like HMA, they scrubbed it for sure.
