I received a message from someone asking could they purchase my channel for $800. He said he could do a lot with it as it has 39,000 subscribers and 53 millions hits.

Now the thing is, I posted about 30 teletubby videos on this channel I had and nothing else. Since then I have done absolutely nothing with it and I have no interest in the channel anyway.

I mean even if the channel was worth more I don't really care as I'm getting $800 for literally nothing, but it wouldn't sit well on my conscience if he lost out badly.

If I took this money would I be ripping this guy off? I would hate it to go wrong for him and maybe he needs protecting from his own stupidity?

get the money and move on dont think for him! he has a brain if he likes it he wants it

If somebody wants it for $800 and to seems a "fair" price to you, take the money :)

$800 is too much accept $100ish..
Jk of course...

Just take the money. $800 is a good deal.

It's a proposal, take it. I'll also advice you to increase your acceptable offer to like $950 - $1000. The buyer has seen a potential for bigger profit.

Don't worry, anyone making an evaluation himself knows what he's paying for.

If he says he can make money off of it than he's probably expecting to get a larger return than $800 by monetizing your channel.

I'd sell it or come up with a way to profit from numbers like that. That kind of traffic could bring serious cash if funneled appropriately.

Do the math. How long does it take for you to make 800 from the channel? I wouldn't sell mine for less than 10k and it only has 1k real subs. It takes months to build a channel. Don't let it go for peanuts and a chocolate bar.

Well I agree with you because you know what to do and you know that you can make money from it.

But if OP doesnt know any ways to monetize it, I would rather sell it.

This seems to be the latest trend. These guys come up with threads like 'Is my ___ really worth?' and then sell the channel to some guy. This way they can stay under the radar and yet sell their shit. Do you think you are any different from the guys who have paid $30 to open a B-S-T thread? Get your shit up man. This is such a lame method. This is also happening in the social media section.

This is getting old, we all know what you're trying to do. Stop selling failed YT channel. Be miserable by yourself, don't involve other people.

Okay. To those people who gave me genuine advice, thank you, its really appreciated. To those cynical people who posted, I do see where you are comming from, and after reading a few threads on here lastnight I would be too. The fact that I did inform you that this channel contained bloody silly teletubby videos and obviously hasn't earned any money as channel meant I really didn't realise how big of a market there was for youtube channels. I still don't fully understand why someone would buy a channel. Doesn't that simply imply that if you need to buy a channel then your not really cut out for making money on youtube in the first place? Anyway I am going to sell up to this guy and I hope he achieves whatever his plans are for this channel. Oh, yes, I did receive two offers via personal message on here btw.

So you are going to take my $5 offer so that you can live with your conscious, a wise decision my friend.

I just wouldn't like to see the guy falling flat on his face that's all. Regarding your offer, I would be a tad silly to say yes wouldn't I?

It's not a rip-off if one can monetize it properly.

To him, it could be worth a lot more than $800 while it could be worthless to you.

So you are going to take my $5 offer so that you can live with your conscious, a wise decision my friend.

Also, for the record, it's spelled "conscience" :P
