I have used Midjourney for quite a long time and have got some great images HOWEVER, as long as I can remember, and its the same today, they seem impossible to put attractive, well written words into an image. I cant believe that they can produce excellent short video clips now, but still cant put the wording right on images. Its either a crazy small or horrible font or more likely spelt completely wrong. Anyone else get this problem or is it me. I'm now using Dalle through chat GPT most of the time and getting excellent results. Just seems crazy. I love Midjourney but for me this lets them down. Please tell me where I'm going wrong

They are trying but I think the issue is that they are building on top of models that had the Midjourney aesthetic that people come to their platform for, which makes it difficult because it means they are building on a foundation that has poor capabilities for text to begin with.

I think you are right but it's really letting them down. I'm afraid that if they don't realise that there are so many good products out there now, then lots of people will be walking, me for one. I've seen it for years in all types of business that the strongest survives

I guess text generation has never been Midjourney's strong suit. It’s mote a visual model. Have you tried using a dedicated AI upscaler or a plugin like After Detailer for inpainting to add clean text in post? It adds a step, but the results are usually spot-on

Thank you, I will try that. I normally use Dalle which does text great, Have just finished an illustrated book about Cornish Smugglers

nah u not doing wrong, midjourney just trash with text. it was never built for clean typography. everyone runs into warped fonts + misspell. workaround is generate background only, then layer proper text in figma/ps/canva. use ai for vibe, use design tools for words.

Since you love the image experience it has allowed you to generate so far, i will suggest you keep using it for image generation and then use another tool for text customization

what kind of tools ?

You're not doing anything wrong. Midjourney is powerful for visuals but text generation has always been its main weak point. DALL-E via ChatGPT is indeed much better for accurate wording. Most people just use other simple editors to add text later if it's essential for the image. It's a known limitation, so don't worry, it's not just you.
