Is Merch By Amazon still worth it?

Is it possible to make decent amounts of money using Merch By Amazon or has that ship sailed? What's your experience? I have an account but haven't used it for a couple of years and I'd like to know beforehand so I don't waste my time. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I was making about $100/month and I spend a lot of effort and hours per day until I woke up to my account getting banned.
You can definitely make money on merch by amazon but it will take at least 6 months to start seeing some profit and you don't know when your account will get banned even I was using merchinformer for copyright check.

It’s definitely still worth it. Don’t think that this is a super passive business though. You can make good money if you put in the work to research. Make sure you have a combination of trending and evergreen designs.
The barrier of entry is really low so expect a lot of competition. If done right you can definitely make some good money.

Yes still worth it as another straw in your internet marketing milkshake. You can use a good variety of t-shirt design tools such as merchinformer.com that allow you to upload your designs to multiple sites now too, so you can use your designs on many platforms.

Thanks for all the comments everyone, they're helpful. When you say "internet marketing milkshake" what other things do you think a noob should also get into that would be worth their time for the future?

If you are able to follow niches, use proper SEO, and not get banned for copyright issues, then Merch can be a goldmine. I was tiptoeing on the border of copyright infringement without actually using intellectual property and I was making 100+ a day in my first few weeks. I got greedy and started using things that were a little too 'Disney' and my account was banned. But if you are good at hopping on trends and using proper SEO you can be very successful. The best part about Merch is that Amazon already has the traffic, so you don't need to generate your own traffic. Definitely try it out if you are interested.

As I see, you did not follow Amazon TOS and Content policy. My account was closed due to Content policy with $2600 royalty.

I made it in 2017. Still got an account, but didn't use it so much yet. I think its quite difficult to make serious money, because someone else could just come around, steal your designs and offer them for a cheaper price.

Try ti find trendy low competition niches and get sales. Before upload please check trademarks

Depends on the tier you are. Higher tiers can find a niche and just make 20 30 different designs and capture a nice % of market share. If you're lower tier you really won't be making any serious money anytime soon. But if you put in the time and make decent designs and good SEO you could be making nice passive income in the future, people live of MBA but hose guys have been doing it for years and are 100k or higher tiers. One thing you have to remember is that Amazon can always just close your account if you dont play by the book and you lose everything so I recommend you upload to other POD sites as well.
