I heard a while back that Market Samurai moved away from Google and focused only on Bing. Is this still true and is it worth getting any more? Only reason i ask is that there is a 50% off offer on over at Warrior forum which stops tomorrow. At $75 it looked mildly appealing as it has a few nice features. I it worthwhile or not or are there better alternatives?

At the moment i just use the Google keyword tool for keyword research. It does the job but can take a bit of time. I also have a MajesticSEO account so the back link feature in MS isn't too relevant to me.

Wouldn't say everything is worthwhile on market samurai.

I use it for the SEO Competition Module, and i use long tail pro for everything else + majestic SEO.

Other then that, it's painfully slow. By the way... Long tail pro is mega fast!!!

It really is a pretty program. They did an amazing job on it. But ultimately I think the ability of most people to actually successfully use the stats it produces is not too high. From a cost benefit perspective, I think most people would be better off just makings a list of keywords and then writing content. As opposed to searching for the ultimate low-competition gem.

It is slow as heck and sometimes even crashes on me. NO CRACK on my end just slow

MS is a bloody waste of money and wouldn't waste funds on it.

All it does can be done using Google keywords and your sixth sense and accurately too.
this post says it all..

all you need are two tools in my opinion... 1) Google keyword 2) any backlink software (my case its senuke)

I use Market Samurai daily last 2 years and is an excellent SEO Tool but due to some Market Samurai sales policy changes, if you want to use the Rank Tracker module for more than 100 keywords (100 words is the free plan) you need to change plan for 5$5 (yellow belt), $10 (orange belt) or $40 (brown belt) etc per month, in my opinion this is is an unfavorable evolution, because maybe in the future the Market Samurai company will will charge extra for any use of the Market Samurai modules.

Market Samurai isn't a bad program. It is slow and has its problems but overall isn't a bad addition to your SEO arsenal.

If you looking for an alternate though I would defiantly recommend Seo Powersuite. I've recently purchased it and have been blown away with it's features.

I used to use it for its rank tracking but they made a right mess of that =D

However I'm yet to find a better program for SEO Comptition analysis and I love market samurais approach to it. That on its own is worth the low one time fee.

When it first came out yes it was very useful and effective at accomplishing seo research tasks ,however now in the moment we are currently at with all the new tools it has become a useless piece of sh!t due to superior alternatives.

I used to use it religiously, but its become a piece of shit since they changed it :/

It used to be the premiere SEO tool, but right now I think it has been surpassed by newer/better tools.

If you don't want to pay for market samurai you can still use trials over and over again.

Nah, not at all. It's very, very slow for any serious amount of work. Maybe good for a couple of sites but nothing more than that -- there are better and faster tools out there.

I still use it but the UX sucks when you have multiple keywords per project; I don't want to scroll through each kw to see the Competition for it.

I really wish that you can set multipe language/regions per project because I don't want to switch projects if I'm targeting separate regions.

Additionally, the publish content feature only targets wordpress, particularly so someone like me who uses Drupal exclusively because it's faster, better, more flexible, better, powerful contextualisation, better and is overall much better than Wordpress in every way imaginable.

Rank tracking is 50 for the free which leaves much to be desired.

I love the competition analysis, wish the export was to xls and kept the highlighting for client report; currently I have to share a private link, and grab the HTML table and convert it to a spread sheet for reports (or slap it on a word doc).

Which brings up the point: Why can't their be a web based solution for it? The can still use the Flash AVM to store project files, and the HTML table's etc are way more faster and responsive than the native AIR application.

If you already own it it's worth using.
If you don't - there are better options.
Most of the best cost a few bucks.

Everybody talk about better solutions... can you name 2 or 3?

Thanks,
John

There's a couple of better solutions in the buy/sell section, and there's also longtail pro, which is lightening fast.
