Is MacBook worth?

Hey folks, I’m thinking In buying a MacBook Pro, but I’ve been thinking if it’s worth or not. I have an iPhone since 2 years now and I was against Apple products until I tried the IPhone and liked it since then. I currently have a Windows laptop and pretty much it’s a gaming computer. It tends to get full of crap after some time and to slow down (even with SSD). Gaming been taking a lot of my time and I’ve been thinking in switching to the MacBook (Mac OS) for productivity and because it’s a awesome design. So, do you guys think it’s worth? Thanks for the input.

Really depends. Now my experience is with the last Gen MBP not the newest one, but see you can now finally get 32GB ram but only with their 15" top of the line version it seems.

- Some say it is more intuitive, but I guess depends on preference and what you are used to. I never liked that you could never right click on the desktop and create any new file. You have to go in the app to do so
- Now the biggest con for me at that time:
I had to work with Excel all the time, mind you not huge files but 30 - 60 MB files. It never worked on Exel for Mac, so had to use VMWare and it was sloow with 16 GB. Maybe now with 32 GB this would work well
- Build quality tends to be really good compared to a lot of other cheaper laptops
- Does all of your software run native on mac or do you need vmware (worth checking)

Now, I am using a Dell XPS 15 (well the inspiron version of it) with 32 GB ram , and it has been pretty painless, is fast thanks to nvme drive being used, bezel-less. You have to compare apples to apples, at $500 Win Laptop vs a $1k+ is just not useful, compare specs, price etc. and if you actually do like the UI better, I for one don't. It's like Google Ads with their new UI, maybe it supposedly looks better but it is such a PITA to work with it compared to using the old AdWords for ages.

I'm very happy with my switch from Windows PC to iMac as my main device. I think almost 3k€ price tag is totally worth it.. I haven't had any crashes and when I'm running on nearly max memory my stuff doesn't crash, just works a bit slower. Plus it looks absolutely amazing. That 5k monitor is something :P Don't listen to blind haters.. if you want constructive criticism, look for people who actually say something about that really matters. I'm 100% sure I won't be going back to Windows (my gaming laptop runs windows lol) or Android (I got myself iPhone and it's amazing)

I'd say it's worth it as long as you use it to its capacity and not to fit in while you're at Starbucks.

I own a Macbook Air (2013) and it still runs perfectly smooth

Blasphemy

Apple is such a joke. A complete consumer market, for those who consume and create content

OSX is not meant to handle heavy hardware

with the $2800 that you spend on the top MBP,

you can get a small server stack that will have enough hardware power for a decade.

Avoid apple hardware. Over priced shit lmao, the surface book 2 is good. Most of the people posting here didn't bother to do any research but instead just wanted to hurry and buy a laptop because of it apparently being the "best" research you're shut and you'll be fone

But still i can build monster pc in that much budget, i mean mac thing

+1
I never really understood the hype about Apple products in general.
I mean why would I ever throw 2000 $ for a half decent laptop ? The argument "it's a Mac brah" doesn't justify the price. I bought an Asus rog 3 years ago for 1600 $ and I've been using it for everything. EVERYTHING. 3D rendering, gaming, programming, video editing, you name it.
And don't get me started about all the mythes "oh you can't catche viruses on a Mac! And oh! Performance brah !"

Sigh.
