Well I see much that .com domain is very good for SEO.But I want to know that if I want to SEO in local country example Japan and content in Japanese too.Which domain is better: mysite.jp or mysite.com
Thanks for help

It's simple to see how wrong yourmy is just by looking at the top ranking sites in your country. On google.TLD, because we get redirected to out country's google domain.
I have never seen a .com rank #1 in my country on google.ro except huge websites like facebook, tweeter, etc.

Domain extension should be considered alongside the location of Web host: Eg I am based in the UK, have quite a few websites with a variety of domain extensions for which I rank high on page 1 of Google.com, but my web host in Us based, so for Google.co.uk I am not always on the first page although there is theoretically less competition.

I've a few .co domains that rank well for UK Google, simply because i change the territory associated with the domain for Uk based searches in Google webmaster tools....they all outrank .co.uk's for exact match domains...

Having a local domain will bring you results faster, but on the long term it's not that relevant. Content and Links bring you the rankings.

Local domain,i made a similar thread in the past about it.

Local domain for sure if your goal is to rank for your local market. I see local domains ranking high all the time in my local results, but on the google.com/ncr index they're nowhere to be found.

people in japan (for example from your post) will be using google.co.jp and if you go on google.co.jp and search for any keyword you'll see .jp domains ranking up so yeah local domain would be a better choice

local domain definately if the site is on local language and baes on domestic targeted group

.jp is much better. Just do a search and see which extension dominates the top search results.

Question, if the language were only english on an .jp domain would this hinder ranking?

it depends, but i think what you would want, local will be better

Local domain 100%,I've tested this with 2 identical domains one local tld one .com same work was done to both.I tend to buy both and the.net and org sometimes as well.

I firmly believe that .org domains are the best seo domains.
