Is linking from your other branded sites bad?

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum and had a question about a certain type of backlinks.I'm optimising a site that is run by a ‘group', i.e. they have 4-5 websites in total, each with the same brand name + a specialisation (e.g. each company's name is [brand name] [specialisation])

The site I'm working on has a lot of inbound, followed links from each of the other sites in the same company. These range from footer links, links on pages, and links within blog posts.

The site's rankings have taken a tumble over the last couple of months, there's been no manual action but I wonder if there is an algorithmic slap on the wrist being applied?

So my question is, are these links from other branded sites owned by the same company seen as negative?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some insight!

You can check it through google's tools called blacklist check.

No, they aren't seen as negative, but they aren't seen as positive either. They will be 100% neutral links in the eyes of Google.
