yes it is but do not exchange between 2 sites, exchange between 4 sites: A links to B versus C links to D; as A links to B versus B links to A is a red small (mostly when done in quantity).

Hello
Link building is beneficial till the time it is used in the right way. The exchange should be done with site that promote similar products like you do. Be careful on how you go about with the exchange . If the site that sells furniture wants to exchange link then it is best suggested to not go for it. Unless you too are selling furniture.

I don't recommend any one to go with link exchange for website SEO unless you know the value of links that you are getting.

It is bit risky for someone who is new to SEO. You may end up with some crapp links

It was useful 20 years ago and lasted for a while.

But now Google will detect "link wheels" easily, and link exchanges end up looking like one.

link exchange blogs are poor shitty blogs.
Backlinks on shitty blogs is an absolute Bad SEO

Also make sure you do not do this with your self owned blogs. It creates a bad track. I like to keep self owned blogs separate. Only always check SemRush or Ahrefs by clicking individual links to see if the backlink profile is clean. You do not have to click on each and every backlinks but just click on a whole bunch of random ones to make sure the link you are getting has a clean backlink profile
