I will say the rise of AI in search engine algorithms has shifted people's attention to content quality and relevance. High-quality content that meets the user's needs is more likely to rank well, regardless of the number of backlinks.

Quality content + Quality Backlinks is still the formula of SEO. I don't see any reason to give more weightage to a single aspect even in the wake of AI.

People still can't properly use ChatGPT and AI for writing. They mostly write useless content.
So, manual content remains the essential part for SEO.

Even without rise of AI. backlink is always most important. content as long it's decent it's fine the point is backlink bring your site rank that bring traffic, than good content make sure they come back.
to put it to perspective a site with good backlink, ranked 1 in GSE with super shitty content that is written like "123" with no meaning,will still fetch higher price than site with 10k good article, 0 traffic , shitty backlink,

Backlinks and content are equally important for SEO. Without good content, your links won't be valuable.

Nah! Quite the opposite.
You can rank without backlinks but you can hardly rank without content that at least makes sense to Google and users.
Bad content with or without backlinks = zero or almost zero ranking.

Links and domain age are the only two factors you need to rank, the rest is just window dressing.
Don't believe me? Check the average tech or web-development SERP, if you are looking for a solution. Google will serve you 2012 Reddit or StackOverflow garbage based on domain age and if you use the datestamp you will find the more up-to-date solutions, better formatted too, but it will never see the light of the SERPS unless you change the date.

I do see any reason to give more weightage to a single in the wake .
It had been like this in past. With AI, original content will become more valuable. Users will take shortcut route and get punished later and then move back to original content.
