Is Learning Facebook and Google Ads Worth the Effort?

starting with both can be overwhelming! If you’re just starting, I’d focus on one, maybe Facebook, since it’s more user-friendly for beginners. Once you’re comfortable there, then try Google Ads. It’s worth it in the long run if you stick with it!

I’ve been thinking about getting into paid traffic, but both Facebook and Google Ads seem really complicated to learn. Between targeting, bidding, policies, and account restrictions, it feels overwhelming.

For those who actively run campaigns, was it worth the time and effort to learn both platforms? Or would you focus on just one at first? Any tips for getting started without burning too much money while learning would be helpful.
Start with one platform first FB or Google learn the basics, test small, and scale only when you’re stable. Trying both at once just burns budget.

Well, it all depends. It's not really necessary to start with two platforms at the same time; ideally, you should start with one. They are two very different ecosystems, each with its own learning curve. The most practical approach is to choose just one. Of course, it depends on the type of product... For example:

Google Ads: there is active demand (people searching for what you sell).

Facebook Ads: if you need to create that demand or work with cold audiences.

To avoid burning through your budget, it's best to start with very simple campaigns, small daily limits, and few variables to test. The key isn't mastering all the platform's features, but rather understanding the offer, the audience, and the testing process.

Definitely stick to one platform. Doing both as a beginner is just overwhelming.

In my experience, Meta Ads is easier to pick up. The algorithm does a lot of the heavy lifting if your creative is good. You basically interrupt people while they scroll.

Google is a different beast. You're capturing intent, so if you mess up your keyword match types or bidding strategy, you can drain your budget in hours on irrelevant clicks. Start with Meta, get your feet wet, and worry about Google later.

Have you started running them already? How are the results so far?
Both platforms currently have a lot of traffic available, but the performance really depends on your product type.

Google is a good place to learn the basics of PPC. Once you understand keywords, ads, and conversions, Facebook becomes easier to learn.

Facebook advertising is well worth the time and effort to learn and implement due to its massive user base, though it does present quite a few challenges for beginners. Could you tell me what type of campaign you are launching?
