Is Java easy to learn?

Ok, so i am offered a free course in one of the following: Java Developer, salesforce, SDET, CyberSecurity.

The only reason why I want to finish this course is that I will get hired by the same company after i finish it. Now they offered me to choose one of these courses.

Java developer looks the most exciting to me and I don't even have an idea what a SDET or Salesforce are. I dont like CyberSecurity but I think it would be the easiest one to learn for me.

I created this thread to ask you if you find learning Java Programming easy or hard. Do you think it is possible for a newbie to learn it in 6 months?(thats the length of the course)

Well, for me much harder than python or c# or any kind of web dev languages, but it’s also well paid language. If you have an opportunity, go get it.

*cyber security is much more interesting for me, anyway it also need skillset of some languages

I am php and python developer. For a project i worked in a java, i completed that. And then i was mad for 3 months

btw, you may go for java if you really enjoy coding. Otherwise cybersecurity

Salesforce is a CRM and it is not that hard to learn. Java is way more complex to your point.

It's much easier than C++ in case you have it as a reference, but more difficult than Javascript.
More difficult also than Python and Ruby.

Yes you can learn java in 6 months but it is one of the more difficult languages in programming.

Salesforce would be a good option if you intend to get into the marketing side of website administration. It is highly specific while a course in java or security would open more doors both within the company that will hire you and externally.

It can be used for anything. If the course is free and you'll get an offer from the company, you can confidently take Java. If the course is 6 months full-time then you'll learn all core concepts and then some. The rest will be taught on-the-job.

Java is neither easy nor hard. Programming in general is perceived as something difficult but it truly isn't, everyone can learn it. The question is, would you be fine with having programming as your career? Have you given this any thought? How much do you know about the field besides that it's well paid and that Google's US office has a free snack bar? Like, have you ever done any programming before? Because, to be blunt, I know many people who wouldn't be satisfied with sitting at their computer solving abstract problems all day. I'd recommend you to look into that as well.

Java is a dying language

Learn Javascript / Typescript / Python / Rust / C++ / C# / Kotlin

I would go with any other course, not with java.

you can start learning from beginner level it is easy, but later you should set effort to learn advanced level

Java is more complex than Python or JavaScript, for example, but is good for understanding computer science concepts. Once you get to grips with it, learning any other language won't be a problem.

If this is your first language than it will be hard. Won't be easy for sure. Can you learn it in 6 month? Depend how many hours you put into and how much you enjoy it.
