Google Stacks still work in 2020 if done properly with targeted keywords. As Google is never going to dominate its own properties.
But a single service not able to rank for any keywords, but surely help in improving the rankings.

I am providing this service to many of my clients and even selling here also.
So unable to share the steps of it, but it gives a good value to the website and pass on much link juice to the money pages. I have seen its much improvement in local sites, and ranking the GMB at 1st position from 10th position by using this service.

These links always effects in positive way only. I haven't seen any negative impact on the website of any niche or any type of aged domain.

Still is applicable today if implemented properly and is still preferred by some. Better way to test is to see them for yourself. Goodluck!
