Hi

I was browsing twitter and noticed that a MOST of the tweets are now from mobile phones. I'm talking like 90% plus! That made me think, is it worth posting links in tweets these days considering many of the users may not even bother opening your link because they're either restricted by their mobile phone type or they cant be bothered killing bandwidth etc?

Just looking for some thoughts on this

cheers

Its shifts in how we digest the web like this that demand for better more responsive mobile designs.

Still good for SEO; plus you never know you might get targetted traffic... and like M.W. said, why isn't your site optimized to take on mobile traffic, considering how big its becoming....

This is the first thing i thought when i noticed so many mobile devices being used. But i also wandered how many twitter marketers are experiencing lower click rates due to this. Any twitter guys seeing this?

it is if you have a mobile friendly website, but in my opinion twitter has become more of a brand promotion tool

Well it helps with other things also to post links... but ya just make your site mobile friendly.

yes, G is looking toward diversified links, natural proifiles, so twitter will help in the social space, SEO-wise.

instagram is pretty much a total mobile site and many marketers still post links all over.
you are just thinking too much man.
don't overdo your link posting but people definitely still click links on mobile devices.
i am getting mobile traffic every day to my sites.
if you want to make sure everything goes well, than just mobile optimize your site.

You should always be linking, always, always - with every site you use that is of quality. Always.

guys i understand the fact that sites need to be optimised for mobiles.. fair point..but i was also thinking about those affiliate marketers who try to direct link to 3rd party offers/ landers that are not optimised. Some of those must be getting wasted traffic from mobile devices if they are not directing users to optimised pages.

You are right. Most mobile users that I know are too lazy or wont even bother to click into your site. They are worried about their bandwidth capacity.
