In my city, the average searches according to Google keyword planner is 150 for seo services, including some variations. Is it worth it to rank for it?

It's probably better to just go around the city and talk to the local businessmen in person, it's been discussed here on bhw before and some members had great success with it. You're gonna have to meet the clients personally at some point anyway. But it's good to have a nice looking website and business cards.

    Cenkoted,

I'm not sure what keywords you were looking at but keep in mind that many business owners don't even know that they need SEO or what the questions are to ask a search engine. For example they might be typing in "market a business online" or "get found in search". Orbit has a great ideas well. It doesn't hurt to hit the bricks and get out to talk with people.

    Best,

    Shawn

    Here is the think,
First as others mention above, most business owners really don't even know they need SEO or how to search for SEO. So they may use different
search terms. That tells us 2 thinks.
    1. Those already searching for SEO may know they need SEO or somehow have heard about SEO and are searching for more information.
The search term may get low searches per month but I consider that targeted traffic.
Now if you exclude that some searches are others doing some research(your competitors maybe?) even that leaves you with
some potential very targeted customers that are waiting for you convince them they need your services.
1 customer can bring you $$$$ per month so I doesn't hurt to rank for that keyword.

The second is that without you leaving your office/home and search for customers will not getting you very long.
Most small business owners don't know about SEO or what SEO can do for them. So it's your ability's to convince/show them.

    Wish you good luck!
