Right, well ...

Basically i like my niche stuff, but lately have found a pretty big gap in a mass market. I'm about to register some domains so i can start raking money in, But i want to know, will it be worth it?!

the keywords return about 5 million results when searched. Usually my niche markets are about 200k results on google.

I know i won't get onto g00gle front page etc, but do you think it would be possible to get close? Everything is 99.9% white hat in this market at the moment, so i'm going to pull a few tricks out to help give me the edge.

I only need to make $15 per site to cover the costs, so its no biggie either way, but if i tap it correctly, it could be a huge cash cow which is always good.

Would you go for it? or save your pennies and find a niche instead?

Be nice to know a little more specifics and what ur on about, sure I know most people get all secretive about this stuff, but honestly if the niche is kinda under developed competition is actually good for business, saves having to create the market on your own..

When dong Google search results use Google insights and then run the searches with H1 tags so you can actually see who is promoting this niche with headers and not just mentions it as text on a page / blog..

Then you will get an accurate idea on competitors and ranking terms / pages..

5 Million results is just too much for new domain to compete. It might take years even to rank for such a high competitive keyword, special if the site ranking on top are high PR, established sites.

But, you are the better judge if you seriously think you can do it, go for it ;)

Yeah i guess, most of them are page rank 7-8 so i'd get hammered i guess.

Nevermind! back to niches!

it wasn't a niche, it was just current affairs, but was going to do a few BH things and try and get top of google for a single topic, and then monetize it.

i figured with that many people searching for it, some are bound to come across it and make me some money, but with PR7-8 around i doubt its a good idea.

What I have to tell you is SERP has nothing to do with PR

so you think i should go for it?

according to keyword tracker, my main keyword gets 58,000 searches a day, and my niche words get about 5,000-11,000 a day, so maybe i have a chance?

probably a long shot though!

You probably won't be able to get anywhere near page 1 for main keywords, but you might be able to get somewhere for long tail searches.

is that 5 million results done with the keyword term in "". If yes, then forget about pr. You need to check how many external links everyone of the top 10 results have. If some have less than 500 links (or more depending on your bh techniques) then yes you MAY have a chance. One keyword term is never enough to enter a niche, how many terms have you tested? I'd start with 10 to be safe.

with quotes its skimmed down to a mere 39k. SERP is still dominated by a PR 9 page, with pr 7's behind it.

Top result on google has 13million backlinks, other places have 150k and 75k respectively.

its a 100% no go. I'll just move onto my proper niche and stay away from the mass markets.

My other niche has a PR of 3 on top with 133 backlinks. I can dominate that in a week or so. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. i'll do that instead.

this works i have tried it myself.no matter whats the pr of your competitors.you will still get nice traffic

sort of, but in a different way, i have my own ideas i want to try out, see if they work first, if not try the normal stuff out i guess.

Basically trying to predict future trends so your site is already indexed, have a few good ideas =]
