Is it worth creating a channel specifically for shorts?

It has me curious as I see lots of youtubers who I watch on a frequent basis have a separate shorts channel. I know short views don't count towards YPP. Maybe it's something with CTR?

A friend who is a mildly successful youtuber revealed that your engagement takes a hit if you're mixing your regular videos with shorts. Like if you post 3-4 shorts that didn't receive a lot of views your subsequent regular videos start getting lower views as well. This is one of the major reasons why most of them are starting a separate channel for shorts.

Shorts has been the worst experience on YouTube in my life. I had a seperate channel for only shorts and the subs gained from shorts are inactive.

Shorts are Youtube's way to copy TikTok, but unsuccessfully untl now.
Consider changing the platform for shorts, because YT with TT can also corespond very well.

Shorts are here to stay and have a bright future. So it is good to have a shorts channel also.
