    OK, I'm not really sure how I should do this but need professional opinion. OK, a visitor browses my site and they find a link they want to click on. They click the link and:

    a. click -> website destination
    b. pop up ->website destination

    I'm not sure what is the right thing to do here. I don't want them to leave my site but I don't want their browser to block my site when they click the a link.

    What should I do?

    Is this a link on your page that goes to a different part. Eg. to your contact page or your about page. Or is it a link to a totally different site on a different url?

    It would be to my affiliate page having nothing to do with my site only the fact that I advertise for them,.

    Then I would have it open in a new window (eg. TARGET='_blank'). You ultimately want them to buy through your affiliate link, so it is okay for that new page to cover your page. Your page is still open in their browser, so they can browse back to it.

    Rule of thumb -

    Any link that is for a business transaction should be a nofollow
