Is it wise to buy targeted traffic?

How usefull would be to buy targeted traffic? I have a business in the medical tourism domain, and I found out few websites which can provide targeted visitors for the medical branch, in my case. There are offers like 50k targeted visitors/month for 59$. Is it wise to buy such traffic package? Is it wise to buy traffic, generally speaking? Which service is the best to bring you targeted traffic? Any special recommendation?
I must also mention that my website is made on a base of few keywords very difficult to rank with normal SEO techniques, because I would need to invest tons of money on it, and nothing won't be guaranteed of course... So, what do you suggest me? Any experiences out there?

For that price, you won't be getting targeted traffic. You might get targeted "impressions" through iframing, but you can not get 50k targeted visitors to your site per month for $59 in the medical niche.
 
Real targeted traffic will cost significantly more. And it's not easy to find.
 
Significantly more? what amounts, can you give me some examples ?
 
it's useless...but it's cheap so you can try it yourself :)

It's gonna be complete crap and will not convert, if the traffic was able to be monitized the brokers would be doing just that and not selling it on for chump change.
 
The only best paid converting traffic you can get,asides from ppc traffic, is from banners alone from close niche related sites.
 
Assuming that ppc is still the best method to get targeted traffic for my needs, what conversion rate should I expect to get from it (in my medical tourism niche, of course)? 1 buyer per each 1000 unique visitors, more, less..? Do you have any idea?

It depends on how your site looks, how targeted your visitors end up being, what kind of sale it is etc. With PPC the expected conversion rate should be 1:1 until proven other wise. Why would people click on your ad if they aren't interested in what you are offering?
 
As I said, the website is about medical tourism, but as there are many websites that are selling medical services in different tourism destinations all over the world, I guess it will be impossible to achieve through ppc an ideal 1/1 conversion rate...

There are many grocery stores in the world also, but if I walk into a grocery store, and they have what I want, I am more likely to purchase from them then from their competitor that I have to go searching for. Once they hit your site, that is a possible sale. The only reason you shouldn't get them is if your price is higher then the known "going rate", or your site is unorganized/not optimized for sales.
 
By the way, do you think it's wise to put the prices for the medical services online, to be seen by everyone, or to put just a contact form for price requests, only for those who are really interested for the services offered? I saw that many competition websites choosed the second option. Anyway, I think that both options have their own downsides, but which one should I choose, though?

I always prefer to post prices online. Or at least "Starting at $99.99" for the lowest priced option. But you can always test for 30 days and see the results, then try the other option for 30 days and see which gives you better results.
 
Buying traffic can make it backstabbing on you. It much worse than Adwords, because someone might send fake traffic. It is possible the guy send the traffic using autosurf method will render the visitor useless. Instead of having 100000 garbage traffic, it is much better to have 100 quality traffic.

Targeted traffic is good, that is also at this cheap rate. But I just doubt it due to low price. You just try and experience it.
