Is it white hat seo?

    hi
    i have a good tech site with pr4,
    i want to increase it to pr5,
    last day I find pr4 to pr6 Directories ,i create backlinks (resiprocal link with my blogroll) with my site, i am thinkg after 1 week when these Directories will approve my URL into their site, then i will mark as all these Directories link as Nofollow.
    is this whote hat seo or black or my idea is totally bad?
    can i get pr4 to pr6 backlinks benefit in this way?
    if not then plz guide me to get strong backlinks

    I think this will be considered as white hat seo. Because you are not doing anything that is illigal or that follows the black hat seo strategy.

    You may get penalized if google found that that you are doing reciprocal linking?

    You should be alright, though I can't see those kinds of links being exceedingly helpful.

    Reciprocal Links are not actually White hat dude.
    As these are directories so they can harm your site.

    But i will make all their link as Nofollow. Are they still harmfull for me?

    I don't think that is black hat seo.
    But keep it low when doing this..
    if you don't want to catch up i the praying big g eyes....

    Technically speaking..if you are doing anything to your website that is not 100% natural then it is not White hat.. However what you are doing would be considered Grey hat...i.e its hardly being naughty.

    Build the links, a good PR4 site doesnt get penalised easily...Try to built links from as PR6-7-8 the higher the better. Always aim high if building manually

    By the way why are you sticking to only directories?
