That been said, Wordpress does some on-site SEO well out of the box. If your plain html/php website is well optimized (i.e. it has all the basic on-site optimization taken care of) it will rank the same as a Wordpress website with the same content and the same links.

WordPress isn't better, but it's easier because of the plugins you can use to help you optimize your site.

It doest depend on what platform you choose, but it depends completely on your optimisation. of course wordpress with a lot of SEO plugins will help you optimise your site for SEO in an easy way, but if you work hard and try to make your html site seo optimised too, your site will rank!

That is complete BS, since all HTML documents use same standards a HTML website, or a CMS like wordpress, drupal, joomla, etc and Google knows this and follows those standards and even for a second that was true having the site in HTML wont make you rank better the max it can do on Google eyes is to make it easier for Google bot to read your site.

As stated above .
Html seo optimised is as powerfull as worpress with plugins.
The only diffrence is as said plugin are easer to load then adding all the css code to get the html optimized as perfect as wordpress.
I do html and php for a living and i think the most hardest part is the css for the mobile responsice code ....
Wordpress has built in themes for responsive websites for mobile and desktop optimized websites.
To have a optimized / responsive website coded in html and css is a lot of work and skill and time.
Also there the optimize of images and video ,and then you got catch , config and others that wordpress have simple plugins.
It can all be done but takes skill and very long process typing it all out in html and css .
So yes can be done in html / php
But wordpress will do it faster ,,it a simple install a button, 5 mins all done ..

If you want ti be a exspert your have to master htmk, xhtml , css to be able to maunalky paull the wordpress pages apart......
But like said thee even a visual plugins for that ..

Dude, what you are saying is completely bogus, first of all to code the css responsive mobile section is a lot more simple than you paint it and even so, there is a framework to do this called Bootstrap (and some more) which 90% of Wordpress themes are using to make this themes responsive and second what you are saying about optimize images or videos it really does not matter if you use Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, HTML Site or whatever you use because to optimize an image or video the only think you need to add is an alt tag and title tag to the image code, doing that image or video is optimize and you don't need to install no plug-in to do this you can do this by code too.
Seriously man, I don't know what you are trying to sell but, is like you memorize a pitch about how great is HTML Optimize and you want to brain wash everyone without even knowing a lot about the topic which is pretty pathetic.

I think you dont understand the consept of html and wordpress your self , a image and a video are all needing compression for speed , altering the html tags is just seo and html stadards...
And don't insult me ok , i been doing programming since 15 ,i am know 43 and no my stuff more then you think , worpress is much easer then any html and css work any day....
Why do you even mention bootstrap when you can use css easly to do the responsive of the code ....

i do my pages in html css ..... i use a bootstrap theme which is clean and don't see any disadvantage.
i think the loading time is bette rin html .... and wp has a lot do crap on the page which the seo tools optimise but in html you don't even have the car there. so ......

There are many wordpress SEO plugins that make SEO easy but SEO cannot be easy with HTML as you have to do onpage SEO manually.
