I believe this is nothing new , when I recently back to website stuff ,

than I read about SSL , is literally just a lock to show vistors this website is secure etc

just like now u see BHW forum got a lock icon .

so my question really if a website is SSL does help a bit on ranking?

Well it gives trust to your website so it should definetly help.

No, its not a mayor factor. Still if they so, but it will give you less visitores now because chrome will give readers a warning so its better to set it up right away

Are you joking? SSL is not just a lock to show your website is secure.
Do your research and find out what SSL really is or does.

No, its not a mayor factor.

This really is a mayor ranking factor! 12 months from now, sites without SSL won't rank anymore.
OK, maybe an old site with only static content might still rank...

It's not difficult to install and not expensive neighter.

Put it this way: if all other things are equal, a https site will beat a http site in SERPs.

But links and other signals are still much stronger than https

CDN services such as Cloudflare give your free SSL and are free to use as well

Just check your top 10 competitors? and by the way, SSL is free if you use something like letsencrypt.

Even easier, any Cpanel host has it automatically

Just a few technical notes:

1) SSL from Cloudflare is "Flexible" by default (so your traffic is encrypted only to the Cloudflare's border, then is unencrypted and send to your server).
2) When you want to use "Full" Cloudflare mode, then you have to use your own SLL certificate. And it is easy, you can use Letsencrypt in your cPanel - as it has been mentioned above. In this mode it looks like: Your visitor has encrypted traffic to the Cloudflare's border, then it is unencrypted and again encrypted with your Letsencrypt certificate ... but it is more secure. (Cloudflare has even "Full (strict)" mode - but in this case, you have to have the certificate from certificate authority which isn't the cheapest).

No. Its not a factor. It will help the trust worthy site for users.

Yes, HTTPS is great. I'm using it. If you got SSL, you can resubmit your website using Google webmaster.

Yes definitely. If all factors is equal, then a https site will rank better than a http site

So true. Https in itself won't give a huge boost. But that helps for sure if everything else is properly done.
