Is it true monitization isdisabled after a single strike?.

Is this always the case?. I am baffled youtube is so strict. Should I stop now?. I post videos that strikes are as rare as getting struck by lightening. I have never had any issues. If my channel is getting millions of views am I still doomed?.

On a lighter note. My channel is comprised or will be of a pool of videos footage no one cares about (edit). The titles and descriptions are custom and for a copyright owner to find a video that is theirs is very rare. I post 300 videos a month and none of my videos are new releases. Videos tend to be years old and not owned by anyone.

I have read a bit more on this and found that it's serious issue and is causing chaos for white hatters and blackhatters alike and had just recently started happening a few months ago with major blacklash. I am thinking this won't be forever. anyones input would be great.

Is this the government trying to shut up independent reporting, media, and entertainment?. I know we went from controlled government television to freelancing youtube style media.

I got 1 strike for posting a review of Lupin III with screenshots and I can still monetize. Just that I can't do a video lasting more than 15 minutes and no thumbnails.

Hmmm, maybe they changed the penalty? I've heard of people losing monetization - but they usually aren't "credible" brands to begin with.

I had heard a total of of 40% of all the big youtubers were suspended sense jan and as high as 70% in certain categories. Some of the biggest. Awesome channel, nostalgia critic and many more. Almost all of them were reinstated and there have been over 100 million video views in complaints sense the policy started. Things may be changing. Youtube is officially one of the worse ran companies in the world right now. They must have a a group of monkeys working the computers. How do you ban 40% of your entire enterprise in 3 months.
Same shit ebay did with there 2014 or 2015 bullshit spring update that they later got rid of do to losing 10s of thousands of sellers and probably over a billion dollars in potential income.


On the lupin the 3rd video was the video removed or was it just claimed?. Definitely a strike?.

I noticed probably right around the fall at some point that if you have one strike you get your monetization turned off within a few days after receiving the strike.

I actually just got a strike on a recent channel I started that started doing good business and it took about 4 days for the monetization to be turned off. I've yet to have been lucky enough to have a strike on my channel and keep my monetization privileges.

Blocked videos I believe can hurt your monetization privileges as well if they build up on your channel that was something that started back in the fall of 2014.

September was the last time I was able to keep monetization going for one of my channels that received a strike. This is likely before right before that rule was implemented I think I noticed it for the first time right around November.

This rule is not good and YT is a little too strict these days they need to calm down on that and flip that rule back to the way it was before. I always thought the system they had before of 3 strikes and you're out was better. Getting one strike these days feels like a channel suspension. It's hard to make one mistake these days.

It's getting harder and harder to survive long-term on YouTube as there's very little room to make mistakes. You have to be extremely careful these days and sometimes strikes come out of nowhere like the people who don't even own videos are striking people now. I had some videos with people either in interviews or performing music who claimed my videos while the people who actually owned the content didn't even give me the strike.

YouTube really needs to do a complete overhaul of their copyright system and discipline. It starts with getting rid of this ridiculous one strike and you're out rule, what's the point of having 3 strikes now? That's a ridiculous stat that 40-70% people have been affected by this in recent months. YouTube better be careful because they're going to scare off their bigger YouTubers.

1 strike is enough to allow you to still retail rights.

2 is temporary just as the first.

They expire after 6 months without a third claim, which unless a third claim occurs will lead to limited monetization status / removal or Adsense bans.

This will change. There is major uproar right now on youtube if you look. The CEO of youtube right now is having her twitter completely lit up with millions of people complaining on this issue as just for an example

Something's gotta change for sure with this as this not only effects content creators but MCNs as well who can't make money off their partner for a good 6 months for receiving just one strike which is the most ridiculous thing that YT has done so far and this CEO of YouTube needs to listen because people don't when their money is in harm's way.

I'm glad her Twitter page got blown up, I just checked it out and Athletichunta was right I was laughing at it because it was deserved. This is real bad PR for her and YT.

The 3 strike rule is pretty much pointless to me right now until they fully change this back to the way it was before or make new modifications to it. Community guidelines are just as bad maybe even worse whenever I get one of those now in days the whole channel gets suspended off of one strike so whatever change they made is clearly glitched out badly.


They need to make changes to this immediately if they haven't already and ditch the whole 6 month rule that is way too long and what's even worse is waiting a whole year if you get another strike during that period of time. Like I got a huge channel right now that I was planning on using again if it stayed clean for another 2 months. It was going to be in good standing come May but I got another strike on it recently and now I gotta wait until March 2017 to use it. Now that's just ridiculous just suspend the damn channel if that's the case. Why are you making people wait ages to use their channels again? I saw this somewhere on another site recently on what they should do but I modified them a little bit:

- With 1 strike it needs to be treated as a warning like it was before where you still monetize and the strike goes away after 1 month similar to video blocks.

- With 2 strikes I think this is where you should lose your monetization privileges for 3 months because you've already been warned on the first one. This is fair enough for me.

- With 3 strikes it stays the same, 3 strikes and your channel is gone or suspended. I think what might be even better because people still make new channels and move on anyways so they should just let the channels stay up and have them suspended for 6 months where you can't upload anything new during that period of time but here's the catch to that nobody can give you new strikes for 6 months instead if copyright complainers need to just have the videos they want down they have to be blocked worldwide.

To me these changes are simple and should've been done a long time ago as it seems fair to me on both sides.

I agree. this makes sense. But gwr out of baseball. I think a 4 or 5 strike rule would be better.

I totally agree 4 or 5 strikes would be better and I would like to change the 2 strike rule I inserted where you still have monetization until you get to your 4th strike.

Received the strike in September of last year and was just lifted today as of this writing (a strike, if not met with a counter-notification, will be lifted within 6 months after being imposed (it used to be a year or more back then)).

Hmm it makes you wonder if with enought time you could create an Automated system eg - Creat you tube account , rip content, post content with slight change to description, auto monitise and connect to auto created adsence account. then walk away ?

That would not be possible I do not think because you cannot post super viral videos as your own without having issues in this niche.

Mods and those connected to mods. I had request. Can we sticky a bulletin of some sort on what we should do to fight this dark time on youtube?. Contacting the ceo, mass emailing youtube, google ect. Youtubers are doing a great deal of damage as it is but I feel everyone should fight at this moment.
