Is it still worth it posting to article directory sites?

Sites such as amazines.com, goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com etc. Is it still worth it posting articles on these sites with backlinks to your site for rank improvement? I'm not talking about crappy content, I mean well written 500+ word articles non-spun and truly unique. Am I better off just posting it on my own blog? What are your thoughts?

Yes, the top directories are good for link diversity and looks natural. Don't blast away on article sites to your $ site, but you can blast article directory sites for lower tiers.
 
Good articles are also a source of targeted traffic.

Most unique content should be on your own blog and don't forget to mass ping it. Please don't expect to get huge traffic from thos websites anymore.

Yes still is but I suggest you just submit to sites that are already established--> meaning look for sites with reputation, high PR, and tons of traffic. Sites like these include Go Articles and Ezine.

You do not need to submit your content to all existing article directories out there. Just focus on building link to high PR site.
 
Yes, mate! I think it is very good for your site if you can take the sites such as goarticles and ezine..
 
Well, articles are not effective as they were. Most of the people are turning to watching a videos rather than reading a contents. Videos are also great source to getting more traffic - Just optimize the video and rank in google. I didn't mean that arts are not useful, you can still get traffic from it but I would prefer to go creating a videos now.
 
Rather than spending time for that useless article posting schedule, concentrate on social networks. Go for twitter, facebook, digg, scoop, etc...

Yes article marketing is still doing good, but you need to diversify your anchor text while doing article marketing.

You should target more lsi keywords , generic text and domain url with targeted keywords.

and also if you regular doing article marketing with unique contents, then definitely your website ranking will improve.
 
Of-course worth if you post unique, useful and informative contents to all these sites.Your content should be worthy to users.
 
Try to do guest posting instead wasting your time in such an outdated method.
It is worthy but not as much as it was earlier. Go with unique and quality content. Change your anchor text.
 
Yes, why not. Different people have different opinions, but you should provide good qualify articles, rather something spun from some where else.
 
Well I used squido etc to also promoting amazon product and in the same time I got backlink to my site...

Just try to target directories that allow contextual links.... they make all the difference. We rank sites all the time using article directories and anyone who says different, ain't doin it right.

Thanks. BTW, Can I submit the same article to multiple article directories for 1st tier.
