The only way to earn by leaving computer on is by mining cryptocurrencies, or you could start earning points by leaving a view bot, then selling those points or views.

YES there is a method that you can earn money by leaving your computer on.
Leave your computer on and go to a 9-5 job, when you come home the computer is still on and you earned money when it was on

It is possible with coin mining and other programs are also there but mostly they are not worth it as there is electricity cost involved and sometimes there can be privacy issues as well.

yes there is. If you run automated bots for a particular service. For example you can use scripts to farm share points on multiple social media share for share like for like sites. After your account gains a crap load of points you sell the accounts. You won't make much but this does answer your question.

If you live in a co-op where the utilities are included in a combined, flat monthly carrying charge, such that you don't feel the energy cost of running the PC 24/7, the use of the computer for crypto mining purposes makes sense. Another method would be to run bot programs that generate lists, scraped urls, email accounts, social media likes and such and sell the results on Fiverr and other places.
