I got a few spammy links from one domain thats deindexed with a clear penalty. (950) to be exact.

Is it smart to send a disavow file to webmaster tools, specially with my pbn links, and sape pointing at my site? Will they do a review because I am sending this file in, or is it safe to get this domain and its subsequent pages disavowed from pointing to my site?

well what happens if I get penalized for the xxxx.com site that has spammed almost 1k of the exact same keyword? Shouldnt i disavow it?

They will just remove the links which you are asking for.

Do you think it would incur a review of my site though? Thats what Im curious about. Anyone with experience pertaining to this?

You really think they have Google employees manually disavowing your links? You are safe, I'm pretty sure it's all done automatically.

Using a disavow won't hurt your site, but if we are talking about links from one de-indexed site only, no matter how many links from that specific site (1 or 100.000 doesn't matter), it won't do harm anyway. Disavowing serious amounts of spam or negative SEO attacks is certainly smart, but a few bad links from a single domain are far from dangerous.

I did something similar and it didn't result in any extra problems. Hard to say with Google but yeah they aren't always on a witch hunt for why your site has questionable links. Normally we play stupid like we don't know how the links got there. :)

is there a way to block the spiders from crawling on to my site from that domain?

Can you remove the PBN and sape links, submit a reconsideration request and once the penalty is lifted point those links again?

It won't work the same way since you'll just get slapped again, but maybe if you play with the anchors or add buffers?

i havent received a penalty. Im just seeing over 1000 links built on one site. its spamming me with one keyword, and the site wants money to remove the links.

I really just want to know if a disavow file will trigger a manual review of my site, or pass through and just stop the site in google from linking to me. As it looks suspicious compared to my 1.5k links in natural ways.

is disavow file processed automatically or manually?

Sorry to say the jury is really out on this topic — a lot of SEO blogs say both yes and no — saying yes admits to guilt — ignoring it leaves any potential penalty.

If you're really worried, I'd say yes do it because Google is probably still in a "grace period" where they let people admit they stuffed up and want to fix it.

My bad. If that's the case, I'd submit the reconsideration request. It's impossible to do manual reviews on all sites who submit those. My best guess is they find the common URLs everyone disavows, and render them ineffective in terms of link juice.
