blast your site or blog with 1000 bookmarks, then after the blast , start drip feeding say 30 bookmarks a day consistently? Or would this be seen as spamming?

I drip feed at the moment on a few sites, but when i did a blast a while ago, it got me quickly ranked.

Just wondered whats the best after the google updates?

I had few experiment with bookmark and wiki combined.Didnt like the results

Sorry to not answer your question, but what's drip feeding?

Ever been in a hospital? See those plastic bags of fluids hanging above patient's beds, there's a tube coming out the bottom of the bag and the other end of the tube has a needle that's stuck into the patient's arm. There's a valve near the bottom of the bag that regulated the speed that the fluid is dripped out of the bag and into the patient's arm.

I know that, but didn't really answer my question :)
Are you using anything other than bookmarks? If not then you wouldn't be diversifying your backlinks, which after the penguin update will poorly affect your SEO.

If you do decide to blast with bookmarks definitely drip feed so it seems as natural as possible. I would accompany this method with other forms of link building.

How old is the site?

Drip feeding is the idea that any kind of content that is best done slowly, either regularly or in a random, patternless manner, vs. dropping everything all at once. Instead of 3000 backlinks in 3 days, you spread them out over 3 weeks. Instead of 30 reviews on Yelp in one day, you spread them out over 4 weeks.

It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature.

I don't have a real answer, but my thoughts (for what they are worth) are whether or not you can make the argument that it looks "natural". Bookmarking is something that one would expect would be done "manually" by a service, so I think that's an argument for it not needing to be "drip fed". But it's a good question. Also, who is doing the service? If you are buying it, then you can consider if Seller "X" is of good value and delivers results (or pain, lol).

Were you planning on doing these 1000's of bookmarks yourself, by hand, over a period of 3 day (or whatever)?

If you creating 1000 bookmark that's good but I will suggest you can creating particular interval 30 day are is very short duration, I will advice you at least 45-60 day that's good time interval it's not spamming. One more important you should be use unique rb's or short description.

Drip feeding is a very good idea. But while drip feeding you must be careful about making those bookmarks diverse.

The initial blast would be a risk. If you buy the blast, make sure the person that executes it knows what they are doing. Drip feeding is a must, but maybe more than 30. If at all possible, get some real good backlinks to help backup the black hat links. If you are not submitting to social sites, do that also.
