For the most common uses it has commonly been having is not safe. Now people play a very conservative role, that, in some cases, could be more time-consuming/less effective that just doing all the job manually.
The best idea is to keep testing and investing some time to find your own path. Start a little bit conservative.

It's safe, a lot of people use way riskier bots. Just don't do more than 500 actions a day.

yes it is. If you know what you are doing. if not, than running some tests on dummy account is recommended.

It's never died, it's just gotten harder.
If you go back to 2014 threads you'll see people had some issues then too.
It's just more expensive, and you need to do alot less per account . MASS days are over for the average Joe's, it's all about testing to find your sweet spot.
I wouldn't risk Automation on an important account though
