A lot of people say dont use chrome...any proof to this? Or just BH paranoia?

No browser is safe they all collect some sort of data but Chrome yeah it's the most intrusive

Also type c:// on your chrome search bar.

He means SEO-wise. And yeah, it's mostly paranoia.

Absofuckinglutely safe. Don't worry. I've never said anything to the contrary. Ever.

As far as SEO and penalties are concerned, Google would probably rather rely on their SEO algorithms and link quality algorithms to determine whether or not you're trying to game them rather than your browsing data.

Now, as far as privacy, tracking all of your data (location history, search history, ad preferences, Google apps behavior) and feeding it into other Google services goes, that goes on all the time.

If you are monetizing with adsense, and doing anything against their TOS, using chrome or gmail could lead to adsense account closure.

i feel the best option for desktop is Google Chrome. Its update cycle is fast and its sand boxing technology is mature. It also has excellent tracking protection. For many of you, this validates your choice as Chrome is the best browser for you

I am using chrome for last few years. Till now I did not have any problem. So I thing it is safe.

The question is does Google chrome team pass data back to Google search web spam team and AdSense teams for example. They've always said each team is like a separate entity and that's why Ads and Search teams don't work together because it would be a conflict of interest in a way. I'm sure if Google docs team sent all data to Google search web spam team they'd be able to find a lot of PBNs and such. But I think they'd have to go through so much data that's it's probably easier for their algorithms to detect PBNs during crawls.

But nobody knows for sure.

Nobody knows as far as SEO goes but I'm sure it's a hell of a lot easier for them to track things if you are using it.
