Is it safe to experiment with disavow tool? I mean i would like to disavow most of my links, because i know that most power comes from just a few of them, however if i am wrong and i end up losing ranks, can i reverse disavow effect and get those links count again?

How soon after submitting file effects can be seen?

any more opinions?

I've some first-hand experience with the Disavow tool and from my experience., once a link is disavowed, it is discounted forever or until the domain expires so if you want Google to count those links again, you'll have to setup a 301 from another domain to your domain and send those links to that 301'd domain.

There is no time limit on when they take your request into consideration but the results can be seen anywhere between 4-6 weeks or sooner.

Its pretty simple, you see a dirty looking domain pointing at your website so you disavow it. The tool is safe as long as you look at the domains your disavowing first. Don't just go dumping all your backlinks in it.

Like guys here said. If you doesn't like to link - it is spammy or low quality, use it.
Other way - think twice.

Why you want to disavow them instead of building new quality backlinks to this. It is hard to say without actually seeing your backlinks profile.

one time i disavowed few good links for site (which have ranking). after 2-3 weeks it go down. So, I removed that good links from disavow - and site returned back to previous positions after some time.

How long did it take to return back?

If I were you, I won't mess with it unless I had backlinks with Viagra and Porn anchor texts.

what about irrelevant blog comment links with high OBL? jap / chinese anchors? will you disavow them as well?

i didn't build those links, my comp did. Negative seo victim here.

I do this all the time because every month I find some really bad links to my main site. Could be a competitor but what can I do?
I disavow any bad looking link and since I started doing this my site's ranking has steadily increased.
I think the whole process is a little clunky but I need to keep telling G that those links are not good for my site and I want to be dissociated from them.

Have you ever read stories on here about a failed negative SEO attempt actually helping their competitors? Well, sometimes these spammy backlinks either help or do not affect a website's ranking, so unless you feel that these backlinks will have a negative impact on your website in the future, it's best not to use disavow tool.

There should be a reason for doing this. If there's nothing wrong with your site, don't do anything. Like the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Yeah I've heard that one before, but only if the site is authority enough to be blasted by the negative SEO like TechCruch, CNN, etc. And not for a new rising site for sure.

And how'd I know if the links won't impact negative on my site in the fuuuture if I don't know which links need to be disavowed and which not...
