Is it really that easy?

I know very little about any kind of SEO. There is obviously a massive amount to learn which is why it might make sense to outsource the process.

I only have one website where I want to improve its Google ranking. Currently it's around page six for the main keywords.

I see from The Marketplace / SEO Packages that there are numerous companies that promise to significantly enhance the page ranking. Some of them charge around $200 which doesn't seem much.

So what's the catch? If it was that "easy" then everyone would just do this surely? There are pages and pages of orders (and a few testimonials) over several years for many companies so they must have some effect.

But I am somewhat sceptical. Do they work? How effective are they? Thanks.

Only way to found out is to to TRY! Some do work pretty well while others don't work as claimed. With SEO, there are a myriad of things to consider, what might work on my site might necessarily work on your site.

If you do decide on a package, just make sure to ask for a sample beforehand. That's the only way to get a feel of what to expect.

There are a lot of factors that go into this.

For example, a $200 service (considering its priced fairly (which in the ideal world it is, but you know)) could easily rank a low competition keyword.

However, for high competition keywords it becomes more difficult to rank, obviously.

This is just one of the easy factors, but there are metric shit tons when it comes to SEO.

Also, don’t check the value of a service on how many people have ordered or given good reviews, both can be manipulated. Ask for samples, check the quality of the past work and take a look at negative reviews, sometimes they speak the most.

You know what. Having another look at your account makes me consider whether you are real or not especially seeing as you’ve posted in a sar[RETRACTED] thread

Sarkar is the best!

@Azaan even you must no mods moan about people who do 3
posts 1 after the other in 10 mins when 1 reply would have done it
as all 3 post replys are to the same user

C'mon @proxygo.. Aren't you doing the same thing? 5 posts in 3 minutes.

You don't have to use the 'code' option. You can just use one post for all your proxies lists.

Look, I don't care about your post count. I know you do. But when your ramping up your post count, don't attack others on doing the exact same thing :)

So he should wait 10 minutes atleast to answer questions? Instead of answering them direct, makes no sense, it´s not like he has written 22 replyes here .. or? What is proper waiting time to answer a question, since it may come another question in some time maybe .. Hmm ..

.

i only said because all 3 of his replys where in less than 10 mins
he could have edited his first post and added his other 2 replys in it

In short, yes. You'll have to do a lot of trial and error, because a lot of them aren't as effective as they claim, but link building and other services definitely work.

Ok, and you do that all the time in your postings? Then I salute you, for being perfect.

Just learn the basics of SEO and outsource if you are not planning to offer service, as it is an ever-changing niche.

most seo companies are scams. as the old saying goes (I believe abraham lincoln said this quote) "if they could rank a website, they wouldn't be working for you"

It all depends on the niche that you are working on. None of those seo packages will help you to get your website site to the first page from the sixth. It will make progress and it all depends on your niche, package, etc.

We all know that SEO is not about a one-time investment. If you buy a package and ranked top, you have a high chance of outranking in a short period of time.
So there won't be any kind of fixed budget or fixed SEO packages for all kinds of keywords and sites.

You have to choose the best SEO packages and plan if you have good knowledge. Otherwise, you have to choose the best SEO service provider (of course you have to believe someone at some point). Google making algo changes every day. No one can give a guarantee about the ranking. They can give some positive signals to Google about your website.

These are the options for ranking. If you messed up with this means all your investment will go vein.

Start with the basics and buy site auditing

See which sub-niches you should be targeting. Everything flows from there.

I did post in said thread but any potential responses were drowned out by people saying they had paid and providing transactions details (not sure why one would need to do this - presumably to boost post count?)

So I realised I was never going to get an answer and thus posted in a forum (this one) which is not specific to a particular provider.
