Same as title, is it possible to rely purly on SEO?
Of course it is. Depends on how good you do it. If you diversify your links, don't spam, use PBNs and don't leave a single footprint, you'll be fine. But you can never be sure. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
SEO is the best technique to get traffic from desired location and your website can have sales also but if you do not rely on it then you have to go with building an email list, CPA, social marketing and even PPC.
Possible but not advisable. Use other traffic sources also.
100% Yes. If you can do it yourself, it's cheap, you can get some really targeted traffic and people search for the same keywords month after month.
However, if you're going after highly competitive niches you might have a hard time to get a lot of traffic only with seo.
Possible? Yes. Advisable? No.
Honestly what else is there other than PPC that is as reliable? Social traffic sucks for most niches, and depending on 3rd party sites for piping traffic is tough to throttle up to reliable rates. I don't see how it isn't advisable... honestly my mind is blown people are even saying that.
Yes you can relay on SEO application, it is a very powerful tool and lot of people out there are optimizing there site with SEO. But the most important part is you have to understand the power of the SEO tools in order to use it effectively. And if you are using proxies, I recommend you to use private proxies instead of public proxies in order to avoid spamming
You need to keep an eye always on new updates to improve the work you will do. Always try to be smarter if possible than the opponent.
i guess OP asked about seo not seo applications :S
and OP yes you can rely on seo for traffic/sales but you have to be good because the market is saturated , you have constantly update your self with whats working , what can be harmful for your seo ? what are some new platforms/way to promote your service/products . Social media plays an important role aswell. you have to understand where you targeted audience is ? are they on search engine typing your keyword or searching youtube for product reviews or testimonials ?
I'd say: Yes, you can rely on SEO only, but you should never rely on one approach or strategy only. For example, if you have your own mainly blackhat powered projects, there is nothing wrong with offering whitehat SEO services for customers paying you a monthly fee that doesn't depend on short term results/performance only. It's tempting to scale up one thing that works really well at the moment, but long term diversification is safer than short term growth.
It isn't advisable due to a few reasons:
1) SEO traffic takes too much time. You need to wait 2 months at least before you can even begin to evaluate the quality of traffic you get. Does it convert? What does it convert for? Adsense? CPA? Affiliate products? I tend to test niches out with PPC nowadays. The faster you get your data, the faster you can make decisions
2) SEO relies on Google for the most part, and Google tends to come up with algos that kick out small time marketers like us in favor of the bigger players. There's nothing you can do about it. With PPC you have a degree of control, the only barrier is money.
3) The most reliable traffic source is not PPC or SEO or Social or whatever. Direct relationships with the consumers is the most reliable traffic ever. To get to the point where your brand name sticks in a million people's heads whenever they think of your niche. But that's long term. Think Coke, BMW, and of course Google. Whenever I crave a sweet drink, I'll immediately think of Coke. Even if I haven't seen a Coke advert in a long time. I don't search Google for "soft drinks". I just get off my ass and buy me a Coke.
4) That's long term. For beginners even blog comments are more reliable than SEO.
Check out meathead1234's method.
No SEO, no PPC, no Social, just plain old commenting on blogs and forums and building relationships.
Do you mean that the generating traffic depends on Google through SEO? If your online business is totally depends on Google through SEO, then Google change its algorithm... maybe your site will lose traffic or get more traffic. So don't only depends on only one traffic source.
It's a great way to earn money for a long period of time. Anyway, you should always know what you are doing and how you are doing it.
What's Else You want to Rely On? SEO is One Thing On which if You Rely, You will never fail.
Completely agree with you..
From someone who got wiped out in 2012, I would strongly advise against it. I had all my eggs in one basket and paid for it. Once you become successful with SEO, start looking into other channels. I know it's a cliche but always diversify.
It is possible but whether it is recommended is another question. I wouldn't exclusively depend upon it.
A fool places all his eggs in one basket (SEO)
A wise man, places one egg in multiple baskets (SEO, PPC, MEDIA BUYS, EMAIL MARKETING, SOCIAL TRAFFIC)
Who do you want to be? The fool, or the wise man? I was a fool last year but after I got penalized last year, I chose to be a wise man and Im thankful my results are great and Im watching my savings balance grow alot lately.
