Hi,

I want to create and rank subreddits on Google. Is it possible to rank subreddits using backlinks on Google?

Yes. You can’t SEO subreddits like normal sites. Backlinks aren’t a reliable lever. Reddit ranks mainly from domain authority, keyword relevance, freshness and engagement. Threads usually rank better than subreddits. External links only help indirectly if they drive real traffic and activity.

You may try but from my point of view it will be a waste of money. As already mentioned above, Reddit already has enough authority and you just need relevant and optimised content to rank your threads (and subreddits).

The chances of it are quite low. Your subreddit will rank with time if it is getting regular engagement and real and good weekly contribution.

For low competition keywords, it's still possible

Looks like external links have no any effect at the moment.

Backlinks don't move the needle like they used to.
Focus on activity and keyword-rich posts inside the subreddit, that's what actually ranks now.

Yes, backlinks may help, but real engagement and good discussions matter much more for ranking subreddits.

You cannot really rank your subreddits. It's a wasted effort. You should rather focus on ranking your threads inside your subreddit. This might help grow your sub if that's your goal. For ranking threads you need to first look at which keywords you wish to rank for- no point in ranking for something that gets no traffic in google. If we are talking about high competition keywords, you need to push your thread to the hot posts leaderboard. You do this by getting/placing relatively big number of comments and post upvotes to the post. This in turn gets your thread to be more visible which then gets you more impressions. Thread views are quite important for ranking in google.

But if the keyword is not in high competition, then you can probably rank your thread quite easily. For example a review post is quite easy to rank "Feedback on Brand X? Are they reputable?". Google search "Brand X reviews" will bring up the reddit post.

But of course you need good accounts for comments/posts and good accounts for upvotes. If you have the infrastructure in place, it's all doable:)

You cant rank subreddit on google, you can rank a post that you made on a subreddit if is helpful somehow and has a good seo on the post

yes you can
