Hy falks... just out of curiosity... is it possible that someone, let's call him baDman (as cool as batman but a bad hero actually), will significantly impair the ranking of some site? I mean if for example he'll use some software that could post 'Viagra', 'Cheap Viagra' and other rubbish everywhere where it's possible with links to our site?
Let's assume that this bad guy have his own reasons to do that or he might try to improve another site' ranking with such tricks...
What do you think?

Thanks to all!

Yes its possible. Unethical but possible. If the site is competition why not just do a better job with your SEO efforts then they have?

so..it's a bad news...then while someone could do a good business and put lot of time and effort, someone other could run black business and offer your' site competitors services to to get your site lost in ranking.. pity to know..
thanks waz11!

yeah.. feels pity.. but it's business :(

There are countless ways to hurt the competition. Get them thrown out of the big G, get em for click fraud, spamming their url around, etc..... Lots of ways.

how is the question? :)
Any methods?

Blantanly obvious and excessive use of a product such as Xrumer could get a competitor very easily banned from the big G - Matter of fact i've heard of a few people on this forum who may/may not have done this themselves ;)

Are you inadvertently telling on yourself? LMFAO

that is what is xrumer isn't it ?? hee hee.A link building tool has turned to out to be a "SERP murderer" :D

Does someone offer these services, not meant to give PR boost, but to get the big G turning them down.:3:

Well, if it's possible (as folks says - it is) then there're indeed exists some guys who found such methods are very tempting for beating their competitors. And here we get a first economy rule "if there're demand for something on the market - then there would be "supply offers" as well".

So, I vote for answer = YES.
