it's possible in low competitive niche. but low competitive niche will drive lower than 100 visitors daily almost.

Just create one website, post your content and publish it online. Then submit your website on webmaster and share it on social media sites like facebbok, google+. You will get traffic as you expected.

Does the silo structure work in Wordpress? I hear lots of conflicting info and I even went ahead and bought SEOZen from Alex Becker which has done squiddly for my sites. Isn't silo structuring similar to using categories though?

If you have a very low competition keyword, with an average of 1PR for the top 10 sites, will you be able to get top 10 rankings with just content
and on page seo?
How long does it take to rank top 10 for a very low competitive keyword?

First of all make your on page well, after that select a niche related Keyword(can rank well if the competiton is low) and post Very high quality contents regularly, you will get good rankings
