Is it possible to change airline ticket class?

If you enrol on a frequent flyer programme like KLM elite then you have a better chance of getting an upgrade.

If you fly with somebody who is already booked in business/first then they can usually ask at the booking desk for their friend to sit beside them. If a plane is underbooked its at the booking attendants discretion to put you wherever they want.

I spent a tonne of money over the years flying business. The only advantage for me was I could get a nights sleep and arrive in my destination ready to work so it saved me a day. Apart from that the benefits are not worth the cost. Food is still as shit but you do get silverware instead of kiddies platic knife set !

Once I took an international flight and next to me there was an over-obese man, no kidding...he must have been over 200 KG (that's what? 400 pounds maybe), he needed an extra external belt, I was so squashed I was not even able to eat or relax a minute.

He also smelled so bad I just was so pissed off but no flight attendant made me go to upper class and the flight was full in economic class.

But you where already boarded into the plane! This doesn't work when you have already boarded, they will never switch you to business class because of this or any other complaint, if not everybody will invent something to try this.
My method is BEFORE your boarding into the plane, like this the other passengers don't notice that you got a free upgrade! Trust me, it works!!
