An affiliate is a person who earns commission from promoting products right , but can someone tell who is a vendor and what he does ?
Vendor is the owner of the product.

If you go by the claims cited at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ClickBank it works out thus: 1.8 bil over 13 years works out to about 139 mil a year, 100k active affiliates works out to average active affiliate payout of about $1385 a year, or almost $4 a day per active affiliate. If you want to make Pareto assumptions about the data represented, then if you're in that top 20% of active affiliates your average yearly income becomes about $5540, or $15 a day.
If you want to believe the claim they've paid out 1.2 billion over the last 4 years, that's 300 mil a year, or average $3k/year per active affiliate. If you play the Pareto game again and think you'll be in the top 20%, that's $12k a year.
At $12k a year you'll have earned your 2 million bucks in about 166 years, but keep in mind you can spread those years over as many centuries as it takes; you don't have to have 166 top-20% years back-to-back. The key thing: never give up!
As an affiliate, could you become a multimillionaire ?
Everywhere I turn there is someone telling me how I can achieve this goal, without
investment, and with very little effort.
That data is from 2011, and clickbank was still not very well known back then.
From 2011 to 2014, the reported payout has more than doubled - from 1.2 bill to 3 billion.
Also keep in mind that active affiliates simple means affiliates who have generated at least 1 hop, not affiliates who are actually earning money. In my experience as a vendor, the bulk of affiliates will simply buy a fiverr traffic gig, generate a bunch of non-converting hops from the said gig, and give up.
I guess If you are a vendor of a popular product (monthly subscription) with a low refund why not
No one says you can become a millionaire on CB "without investment, and with very little effort". Anyone who does has no clue what they're talking about. But is becoming rich through CB realistic? Absolutely.
I personally know MANY people who were complete beginners in IM who were able to quit their jobs in less than a year. But to everyone who wants to get started with CB without any prior skills in IM I've always been clear about one thing - you will need to work your hands to the bone initially. The first weeks and even months, it is work, work, work. However, once you have your system down, then yes you can make some serious big money with little effort on clickbank. But many people keep ignoring the fact the before this 'autopilot' phase, there needs to be a phase of very HARD work.
Even as an experienced clickbank vendor, each time my team is working on a new product, me and my team will work veryyyyy long hours (and burn lots of cash) for months doing niche research, competition research, future threats and opportunities...then long hours on product development and sales strategies...then long hours on infinite testing...then promotion, contests, PR, etc... Only after all this, the workload goes down immensely while income goes up.
For people who are ready to put in the HARD work, I can GUARANTEE that in less than a year of getting started with CB, they'll be making more than the average US salary, no doubt about that. But for those looking for an easy way, and those who are not willing to put in the long hours, then let me save you some time - IM is not for you; stick to a 9-5 job.
Mancar
And that's the other key - forget being an affiliate; move up the food chain and become a vendor! Let other people do the work for you
