This just happened, I don't think it's a penalization since there's positive movement as well
Is it possible for google dance to exist on aged sites / articles?

You don't usually see huge fluctuations on a keyword when it ranks on the first page unless it's been hit (in my experience)
Out in 'no mans land' (page 2-3 and beyond), you do tend to see huge ups and downs and that's quite normal.
I know the new Penguin update is targeting websites on a page level, so maybe those specific pages have taken a hit, but the rest are still OK, or even improving in this case?

Doesn't seem like a dance. The only time it ever happened to me was when I changed my homepage (magazine vs blog post). The rankings dropped 10-70 positions for about a month before going back to where they where and eventually hit #1

So you had better results with blog post type of themes? got any theme you'd suggest?
When you use a magazine theme style homepage, you have a bunch of latest articles, featured articles, most popular articles etc etc .. So obviously those pages that are linked on the homepage will be receiving a link from the homepage .. When you swap to a different homepage layout (blog post style in this case), your articles lose this homepage link .. So they lose a few spaces
I get this regularly .. My homepage features the latest articles. So when I add a new article, it shows up super high in the SERPS, but when I have added 4 more articles, it bumps it off the homepage, and it takes a hit to the 2nd or third page

I don't think it makes that much of a difference. I made the switch for this particular site because that made the navigation on my site much easier. I had a pillar article (How to) which linked to several best of 5 products. My structure looked like:
Homepage --> Pillar --> Product 1, product 2, product 3, etc... --> Pillar
Changed to:
Pillar --> Product 1, product 2, product 3, etc... --> Pillar
The fact that I went #1 about 2 months later was probably caused by more links being built.
Fun fact: That site got penalized last June, re-created the site and now back at #5.

Did you use the same content on a new domain when re-creating the site?

Changed content a bit, added ~200-500 words on 2-3 articles, nothing special.

Had it been the penalization of GOOGLE ,all of your keywords would have been hit.
This could not be the GOOGLE DANCE as well as there is huge fluctuations in the SERPs.
If your report as shown points out anchors targeting different pages ,then there might be a partial hit.
The recent penguin updates give high probability for dancings so in your case ,it might either hit rock bottorm or it should bounce back in few days.
Let us hope for the best.
