    Hey all!

So, I have been on here for a long time, but only recently started to learn SEO, site building tactics, and all this great cool stuff.

I have a question for you guys, summer is coming up, and I will have a lot of free time on my hands. I really want to make this summer count, and so I really want to create some authority websites that will be able to keep expanding.

ATM I was able to create one authority website, however it was in an easy niche that had 0 competition (and rightly so since the cpc is 10c, and many terms I have hit receive 100-300 searches a month) HOWEVER when building this site, I have been able to rank for some medium terms and some terms that are hard according to UNF (ultamate niche finder) - some in the top 3.

    Anyways,

Over the summer I want to make 5 authority sites each going after terms that have medium competition according to UNF, hopefully put out 1 article on each per day (500 word article) and do the same SEO that has worked on the hard terms I have previously ranked.

I am wondering if 4 months of work on 5 sites at once will be enough to create 5 strong authority sites that could last until the next year without much time put into them. (maximum 2h a week for each site once the summer is done)
    - I could prewrite stuff and set to post once or twice a week, I can run some SEO software on my PC etc.

    Any tips/ comments are appreciated.

    Thanks for your time guys!

Just my opinion: I would focus on just one or two sites. The greater the competition the more effort will be required to make them rank. Your blog posts will most likely loose ranking over time as they age and become less relevant as products, technology, tastes, whatever, progresses. By narrowing your focus on one or two sites I think you increase the probability of success and will have an easier time of keeping your sites up to date.

    Youtalkmedia,

What are your goals for these sites? Is it to make them places that a lot of traffic goes in order to monetize them? If so, I would focus on less like dbshoupe mentions. The trouble with having a bunch of websites out there is that you spread yourself thin and you end up making a lot of garbage instead of one or two quality websites. Of course if you can contribute the same caliber to all websites, more power to you. In my experience that usually doesn't happen, at least in the long run. If you focus on making one really good website, you will be able to make just as much income off of as having 10 mediocre websites.

If you are looking to build a bunch of sites fast, maybe these guys can help,

    Hey, thanks for your replies.

During the summer I will have a LOT of time to work on these, (like 8h a day) as I will be treating it as a full time job.

I am not sure if 2 sites will take that much time. I guess what I could do is start off with 2 websites, and if I find that they don't take up the full 8 hours, I can create another one.

I would recommend you just designing the website then getting some authors to write content. Plenty to find.

@Trool - Good point. You can outsource content writing to authors who doing it well since long time. Outsourcing services will help you in achieve your targets faster.

If you do not have cash to pay on outsourcing, then it would be best to do the writing and SEO yourself. Concentrate on 1-2 sites first. See how it goes. Then, apply proven and effective methods you have learned from creating your first 2 authority sites.
