So, I almost ranked one site and was now up to ranking another one, and rinse and repeat. Bought new domain just like I did before, but after lots of efforts over 2 months it is still nowhere on Search engines, (not even in top 10 pages). Am I hit with penalty or is it sandboxed? I have done almost same thing as I did before. Keyword is also low competition.

try to search for your site on google

site:ww.yoursite.com/post

It is there, do penalty completely removes site from index?

depends on the penalty, if your site is deindexed it is mostly a manual penalty or a misconfiguration at your side.
You can make a post with title "asdas asd asd asdasasssd asdas" and after it has been indexed search for this term.
Then you know if it has a penalty or if you are not strong enough to rank higher on your current competition

Check google webmaster tools and see what the issue is?

If it worked before, that doesn't mean it will work again.
Maybe you got lucky the last time since the release of the Google update in September last year (I think).
It takes more time to index spammy links.
Try add some Web 2.0 backlink (by some I mean 300+).

Make sure your content doesn't exist elsewhere online. Build diverse links (you won't rank with just one type of link).

Check MattWoodwardUK on Youtube. He has really good tutorials

I searched for exact content on my site and it was there.

Maybe I underestimated the keyword competition this time?

That's usually the case when I go after keywords that appear to be low comp. I just put in more work and eventually I start seeing movement, it may take some time probably a lot longer then I estimate but eventually it does get up there.

Did you try ranking aged domains?

If your site is ok it should be indexed in few days... I have 5 days old website and it already has 100 indexed pages...
