Uniqueness is very important for rank signal. Similar topics with variation will be work smoothly but copied content with same description will be penalized.

Google is too smart these days when it comes to analyzing and valuing content quality, doing this could hurt your site so I would not advise it. Best thing to do if you feel you are out of ideas and want to "recycle" existing content is to rewrite it with a completely different wording.

Your site might get penalized later. Re-written content could be a healthier option.
