Is it OK to use the same image across multiple posts?

So all of my blog posts follow the exact same template, so there is some overlap in the topics I discuss. One of the headings I use is in every article, is it bad do use the same image for this heading across every article, or would this be seen as bad in Googles eyes?

I don't see the way it would have a bad effect on anything. Its natural to have overlap in the topics and it also may help google to make connection between these articles.
 
As long as you change the file name and change the alt text / meta text then it should be fine. The main thing is that the image makes sense to be used and has relevance.

E.g. if you're writing about solar panels, you might have the same image of a solar panel for two articles:
1. "Which solar panels have the best efficiency?"
2. "Are solar panels really the most environmentally friendly solution?"

For which you might have
1. Alt text: "Efficiency of solar panels can vary wildly" and file: solar-efficiency.jpg
2. Alt text: "Solar cells are a manufactured product" and file: solar-panel.jpg

Image is a solar panel and is highly relevant to both articles, so it makes sense.

That said, it's better to use unique images if you can because it creates a better experience.
 
Yes. You can use the same image on multiple pages. But the safest way is to use different images.
 
Images are just like text. Same image = same content = duplicate content. Same goes for images found on the WWW. I you use them, it's duplicate content.
 
Don’t. Alter/create new images for your articles.

You can also look up royalty free images and use those. There are plenty of sites with those available just make sure you’re using actual royalty free images and not ones uploaded by a random user.
 
AFAIK, Google crawlers can only read source codes. Hence, it would not be able to see your image, but it can read the alt text and file name.

There is hardly any SEO impact of you are using the same image at different places and if it's relevant.

What you should think of is about user experience. A visitor coming to your site should be able to correlate your content with the images you are using.
 
Why would you want to use the same image on different post?
Are you looking to bore your readers?
 
I won't necessarily be bad for algorithms, especially if you change descriptions and name articles differently, but this isn't a good practice from UX perspective, so you should definitely start making at least some basic images for each post, as articles should differ and users should notice their difference already by looking at feature images.
 
I think you better different image of same type. Because of same image will bore your audience.
Image of the small thing to attract the audience. Better to avoid repeated image
 
The first thing to consider is whether your users like to see the same image on different posts or find it annoying. If the users don't have a problem with the image, then the crawlers won't have a problem. If you have some time, you can add text to image to create separate images for each post.
 
Yes, you can use the same image on a complete website, but it would be always better and safe to use different images on the website to make them look and feel fresh on the website. Because the user has an intent to see something new on web pages, if you will be posting the same image on the website then it can hamper the user experience.
