Is it ok to post same content on several social networks?

I pretend to create a facebook page and an instagram page. The niche will be the same, let's say funny pictures.

How should I proceed? Should I post the same images to both social networks? If not, what are the advantages of posting different pictures?

If I post the same images to both it would be useless to write something on my facebook like "follow our instagram page for more funny pictures" because they would see the same content.

Maybe I should choose different niches right? I don't know what to do, would be nice to receive an advice about this.

You can make a facebook page and post there images but then write "follow our Instagram page to see new images every hour" or so. So at the end you can post the same content to both sites but the instagram followers will see it faster than the facebook ones.

You are suggesting to post more content on instagram than facebook. Makes sense since facebook reach is awful while on instagram it isn't. Maybe I should do that. Thanks.

Anyone has any more suggestion about this?
