Is it normal? I'm so disappointed.

I have an e-commerce website with 500 products: 60 with good and 440 with poor content (not so popular/important products).

My google positions are not so good for the main keywords: category pages and homepage.

A 1-2 weeks ago I deindexed the low-quality pages along with thin content pages. And I also added them to GSC url remove tool for faster results.

My website is clear now, there are only good quality contents with 500+ words. But my ranking didn't get better.

How could it be, if I removed all low-quality contents?
I know I don't will be at the first position or at the first page with this, but my positions didn't get better at all.

Is it normal? I'm so disappointed.

Happened at starting. Just try to promote through social media, and do SEO.
If it wont work, try different strategies.

I will call that an average normal you just need to keep working harder and try to do more research and you'll actually surpass your goals

It's normal. eCommerce is tough. Don't expect to outrank Amazon and other giants with content alone. You need high quality links too.

So you launched a site with 500 products and didn't make a million overnight? Know that feeling...

Relax! Updates and changes take time unless your site is at the point of being crawled and updated on a very regular basis. I would focus on your 60 products make them better than GOOD! Start to rework the content, add some images your competitors don't have, work on a feature list and so on. Then focus on getting them to rank for exact match product description so if your selling 'johns fat salmon cat food'

Id make sure that product page is ranking for "Johns fat salmon cat food" "Buy Johns fat salmon cat food" "Johns fat salmon cat food offers"

So that's your long tail / exact match done so if they only get 10 searches a month 60 x 10 = 600 unique views if you get to pos1. Then work on building up the category pages, adding relevant sub-category pages.

Once you get that all done, get social media working for you and then start an outreach campaign. Figure you got 3-6 months of work ahead of you there to start.

Give it at least 1 to 2 months. 2 weeks won't change anything.
