Is it me or is Google Search Getting Dumber?

I'm finding regular searches are bringing back results that are not as specific to my request as before. This usually happens more when my search has multiple words in it.

Even boolean searches don't seem to be working right. I did multiple searches the other day that were something like this KW AND KW AND KW or KW +KW +KW. Most of the pages didn't have all 3 words on the page when I checked. I was trying to find some specific information and the results were just terrible.

Anyone else noticing this?

Google has gone to the dogs
Their income has dropped, since they started playing about with this algorithm

They will change back or die.

I've stopped using google when looking for real information,
and so are a lot of other people.

It happens to all big companies, They become so powerful, they think, they can do anything they want.

In the end they get their assed kicked and rarely recover to their former glory.

Coca Cola is probably the only exception to this, when they changed the formula, they done a quick turnback, and came back stronger than ever, but it cost them millions to do it
 
I hate to say it but I find myself using bing.

Google just brings too much junk.

For example, try searching for a script to buy legit.
Google will drown you with nulled scripts.


Any recommendations as to what to use other than bing aol or yahoo.

Lol? You just aren't looking hard enough dude. Most of the sites that offer 'nulled scripts' have a link back to the original.

Its all the web2.0 bs that is going on,the older internet was much better especially irc and forums compared to twitter and facebook. Twitter and Facebook are way worse then the chans.
 
Google needs to stop implementing social shit into their search machine. Just leave the algorithm as it was like 2 years ago, it was almost perfect

I've been trying all kinds of variations lately including "" OR ().

The search algorithm has just gotten bad lately.
 
Yeah, honestly, I fuckin hate Google. I don't get all the changes. I've NEVER heard one of my friends complain and say "Oh, the results on Google suck :("

So wtf is Google making changes for? They say they want the users to have the best experience. More like they want to screw over webmasters.

Yup, I'm done with G. Moved on to Bing for the moment but would be good to use something else.

lol yeah.When ever we search for a review optimized sites come up with EMDs.Most of them are only interested in high commission not give any value to the reader.Even my self ended up with using other engines.Or for reviews in electric items i used to view amazon reviews it self.
 
hey, don't hate your boss. rather work hard to get a big bonus...and an increase in salary.
 
The main problem i see on my searchs is that some Big sites are given too much juice and they always rank high for all keywords.

So when you are searching for a niche keyword or specialized information you always need to skip the first page because it is just rehashed or rewrited content.
 
Google may have a hidden agenda. Take this I read in another forum:

If they just let entrepreneurs run wild on their search engine, yeah there might be an abundance of ads and sales copies, but the situation is perfect for them.. little direct government regulation of search engines, ton's more opportunity for money and businesses to expand (within their constraints) and the people can say with no doubt.. that's google, they're the best, which is probably the best kind of business model. it's like they are running their own mini-world and decided to say: "hmm lets overthink this and see how we can fuck it all up"

The positive side for them, is they can simply make an algorithm change to adjust search results overnight, but why even take the risk?

I happen to work a lot with scientific papers (apart from SEO). About a year ago noticed as well that the results I'm getting are not relevant to the search. Moreover, I cant find the same thing twice (in a year/half year interval).

Anything having to do with science is not bloated with affiliate crap, so at least there i would expect Google to return relevant results. I.e. sites like arxiv.org, forum discussions, etc.

Instead the best I'm getting is 40 previews of the same paper from clones of tripple e, resumes and (thank god) the wikipedia.

With that Social madness they are losing their main business - something they were truly good at - the informal search.
 
They'd rather you know that your friend is about to take a shower,then learn how to fix a broken shower fixture.:p
 
I think Google is underestimating how stupid people really are when they can speak as freely as social networking lets you. I honestly miss the days before facebook... the internet was a better place.
 
it all cuz facebook kills them

i see new trend few customers search for my biz. (car transport) in facebook they actually search for "car transport" in search bar and contact us

Google see the future 750 mil FB users start use FB to find things on the web!
