Okay, payment processors, crypto exchanges and banks asking for KYC is standard and understandable.

But nowadays I'm seeing CPA networks, domain services and even proxy providers asking for KYC, what the hell is going on?

Last week I bought a fake id on Telegram for $15, the demand will increase at this pace, are those guys thinking everybody will just give their real IDs to any random company created last year? Crazy, I hope this kind of behavior doesn't become the ''new normal'' procedure

I don’t think it’s their own initiative. It’s pressure from regulators and governments. And honestly, I think the company doesn’t really care whether the info you provided is real or not — what matters is that they asked for it and you submitted some kind of ID.

And yes, this is the “new normal.”

it's not just you! And I think Royroyan is right too (pressure is being put onto all companies to KYC their customers). We're living in the era of data mining and brokering, so of course everyone and their grandma is going to ask for our ID.

And that's nothing, wait until everything is accessible only via biometrics and face recognition, that's the goal of these criminals by the end of 2026...

Ikr I had a Facebook fake account for work purpose since I didn't wanna reveal my id but I wasn't using it for last 5-6 years recently after few postings Facebook locked my account and asked for kyc.

When I stopped working in adult I swear over 50% of the affiliate companies I was signed up with demanded KYC. I talked to a few I was friends with and it's the banks and credit card companies pressuring them. It was annoying at the least and infuriating when they chose software that never worked. And Paxum, lets not even talk about them needing KYC every freaking quarter these days (or at least it feels like it).

But I think also most of the socials where I'm getting paid wanted some form of KYC more than just tax docs. So it's literally everywhere at this point.

sometimes kyc not enough, even got a team asked to do photo verification with ID....
