Hello guys, I will be straight to the point. Today I literally cloned someone's website; it isn't a special website or something like that. It's for affiliates. Can I use it? I would change the logo and some text parts.
Could I have some problems because of that?

Is the source code/design the exact same? If so, you could have lots of issues if the site you cloned is big (they might claim you are trying to run a phishing site and ruining their reputation).

If you change it slightly (color scheme, sections, and last but not the least the source), it should be alright. Legally, I dunno. ianal.

Is it legal? NO
Should I care? Maybe, depending of your morals, only you can make that call.

You probably have five minutes before SWAT breaks down your door

Rather than cloning their site pixel by pixel this would have been more appropriate -

1) A fresh wordpress install
2) A fresh theme (probably GeneratePress or any other lightweight theme)
3) Identify the URL's of the site in question from their sitemap.
4) Create all those posts with the exact URL's in your site.
5) Copy all of their content but do not directly post in your pages. Instead run that content through a good rephrasing tool (there are many out there).
6) Make sure the main keywords are still there. If missing, insert them manually. Too much work? Well, you have to do this.
7) If possible get fresh graphics from stock libraries and upload for those articles.

If there are handful pages only, then I recommend manual work. But you can automate this work with a plugin named - wp automatic. You can integrate word ai dot com with this plugin for spinning the text automatically.

It will be impossible for them to raise a copyright notice now because your theme is different, content is unique and images are unique.

I know it is extra work for you but it is the best option than copying sombody's work and wait for DMCA notice.

It is completely illegal. Since you are worried and asking about this, you will not be able to even sleep peacefully. So my suggestion is to delete the website and work on original ideas.
