Title.

I would typically make my own websites. I am good at it, but I see alot of "attractive" wordpress themes. They look like at the click of a button, you could have a bitchin site. This being said, if I wanted to be lazy and make a site on my own domain/webhost, but using a wordpress theme - is it harder to rank these?

Might be a stupid question, but just curious I guess. Is there a really good SEO plugin or ?

I guess I was just wondering if these types of sites, or SEO plugins were penalized in anyway.

thanks in advance.

Wordpress is easier to rank IMHO, the free Yoast plugin makes onpage SEO easy.

It's not hard to rank a site using those theme. You can use seo yoast plugin to do the on page seo. It's easier then other.

Some themes are completely fucked up for SEO. Before choosing a theme, make sure you look at a demo site and pay attention to the link structure, duplicate stuff, excessive search results and other possibly duplication of excerpts and overall mobile usability.

WP seems not stable as it used to be

WP accounts for about 25% of all websites, as such it's an easy option for hackers to try to penetrate.
Some people don't help themselves by using nulled plugins or shared themes, which have malicious code and trojans etc injected.

Regarding seo, it's as easy to rank a site built on HTML, if your onpage is good enough. WP has the advantage of popular seo plug ins such as Yoast, All In One etc which have free options available.

Yes WP sites can look awesome, but so too can HTML ones if they're done correctly.

I prefer WP for huge amount of plugins and easy management.

i think they all are bad with no exceptions. they make stupid things like post/page title H2 or H3 instead of h1. even "seo theme" had double h1 tags

it's not really tough to rank a WordPress website. First, you need to Choose the best-optimized SEO Theme and plugin for your site, You can use Yoast WordPress plugin for the easiest way to optimize yours on-page.

For better SEO Publish quality and informative contents to Promote your posts on others website and social networks.
(Don't install unwanted plugins it may affect your page speed so make sure of it).

If u have a premium WP theme, then it's probably got some pre-built SEO stuff, so that makes it easier to rank.

But if you're using a free version of a theme -- haha man good luck. You'll be fkd

Not true, if you optimize your site structure then ranking would get a lot easier.

i like html as well ... you can do exactly like you want.

WP is an overoptimization disaster if you are not aware of it.
However, when you fix that, it is the best CMS probably.

Started with using WP, switched to building my own html. Found WP to be overly optimized and bloated. Prefer the the flexibility of building from scratch.

It is easier and efficient when you build your website using Wordpress. Doing onsite SEO is easier too. But you need to choose a theme that is simple and responsive. With the use of plugins, make sure to check its review.

HTML sites or WP sites both perform well. It depends on your preference. One factor you need to consider actually is your site's structure.
