Is it hard to get ranking for penalized site?

I do seo myself and get good ranking for other sites, but I couldn't recover the site with old ranking

Start with a fresh new site...move the content over and try to build up your brand on new domain so people search for your brand...rather than ranking for keywords that is short term and will get you penalised again.

I already did this and G removed my site from Penalty, I am trying to recover its old ranking.

Yeah, I have started to work again for this site, but not great improvement in ranking and traffic

I think, it's good news for you that, you are now still living in SERPs. The Google Sandbox robot is still watching you, that's why you are facing this problem. Just try to find which bad links are passing juice to your site. You should remove that kind of links. Don't build backlinks now, just write some shareable content and try to increase traffic sources. After 1-2 months, build some quality backlinks. But remember, don't forget to track your competitors. You need to track them, what actually they are doing. Hope you will get back your position. Its most important to make a great strategy. Best of luck.

Nice idea, Now am posting 2 contents per week in my website's blog, is it good or I have to post content daily?

Its nothing that you can do to fix crashed mirror.... But keep doing whitehat seo and soon or later will see better days.

No matter about posting amount. Just follow a strategy. Change your strategy every month. And always track everything..

it is very hard to bring your site back to Rank once it is penalized. First you need to get rid of the bad back-links. You are saying some of your KWs still i SERP that is really good.
so here after better you can use some authority back links (build niche related links) and better go move with social media..

2 years back I ranked in 1st page for "High" search volume keywords like SEO India, Top SEO Firm.. my bad all lost now..
